Janice Vaughn Kinney

Janice Vaughn Kinney, 72, of Raleigh died unto the Lord Sunday morning September 13, 2015. A native of Burlington, NC she was the daughter of the late William E. and Louise Pyle Vaughn and was predeceased by her sisters Doris Perry, Amy Shoffner and her brother Billy Vaughn. Janice was a 1961 graduate of Walter Williams High School in Burlington and retired after 38 years of service with IBM Corporation in Raleigh. She was a long time active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Surviving son William T. (Wink) Kinney (Jane) of Wilmington formerly of Pinehurst, daughter Carmen Kinney Smith (Chad) of Glen Allen, VA, sister Molly Horsmon Rock Hill, SC, granddaughters Annie Kinney Worsman (Michael), Chandler and Campbell Smith, and great grandaughter Annabelle Worsman, friend John Kinney (Kathryn) of Pinehurst. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday September 16, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 824 N. Bloodworth Street with the Rev. John Michael McAllister officiating. Inurnment will be at historic Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm - 3:00pm in the church sanctuary. The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 824 N. Bloodworth Street, Raleigh, NC 27604
