GARNER – Janice Williams Koehl, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 8, 2024. She was born in Nash County, North Carolina, on June 12, 1941, and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Jessie Williams.
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Koehl; sons Michael Koehl and Steven H Koehl; and brothers, Henry B. Williams and Benjamin J. Williams, all of whom she loved very dearly.
Janice was an exceptional daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. On December 1, 1956, she married the love of her life and best friend, Harry Koehl, spending 46 memorable years together. Janice was the heart and soul of her family. She dedicated her life to her husband and their 6 boys. She was a homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her family. Her dedication to caring for her family was shown in many ways from Wednesday “spaghetti nights”, birthday celebrations, selfless care taking and always providing a loving place to come home to. She was patient, kind, and never judgmental.
She also enjoyed being involved in the lives of her grandchildren. Known as the fun Nana, she always had games to play, toys to entertain, or was ready to dance to any song! Her love and commitment to her family was something to admire and was reflected in all that she did. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends and will always be remembered as a woman of great strength and sacrifice, who loved selflessly and unconditionally.
Janice is survived by her sons, Harry Koehl (Kathy) of Garner, John Koehl, James Koehl, and Matthew Koehl (Charlene) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Scott Koehl (Tabatha), Tiffany Johnson (Johnathan), Hunter Koehl, Jessica Koehl; and great grandchildren, Saylor Johnson, Mason Koehl, and Sawyer Johnson.
