Jay Anthony Eaton

Jay Anthony Eaton, 67, passed away on July 31, 2023 in Raleigh, NC. He was born on April 23, 1956 in Radford, VA. Jay was a sweet, caring, and patient man. He was a selfless individual whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all who knew him.

Jay is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna, his sister Kim Wright and husband Randall, nephews Bryan Wright and wife Melanie, and Brandon Wright, his uncle Marty Roop and wife Karen, several close cousins, his good friend Kevin Kidd and wife Vesna, as well as his beloved dog Opie and cats OJ and Tanner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Roop Eaton, and his father, James Anderson Eaton.

Jay attended Millbrook High School and later pursued higher education at Wake Technical College. He dedicated over 30 years of his career to Duke Energy. He loved his job and co-workers.

In his free time, Jay thoroughly enjoyed fishing, listening to classic rock & roll, and spending quality time with his family and pets.

Per Jay's request, there will be no service. A celebration of Jay’s life will be held at a later date.
