Jayne Martin Wilson

CLAYTON- Jayne Martin Wilson, 54, passed away on September 16, 2015 at her home in Clayton, NC, after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and lifelong friends in her final days.   Jayne was born in Roanoke, VA on July 18, 1961. She was the second of the three children born to Betty and Hubert Martin. Jayne was raised in the Raleigh area and was a member of the first class to graduate from Athens Drive High School.   Jayne had a very outgoing personality. She loved to laugh and her laugh was infectious. She was a very caring and compassionate person, was always the first to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to a problem. Jayne overcame many obstacles in her life. She was never afraid to share her experiences and mistakes with others so that they could learn from her life.   She loved all living things. She fed any animal that had the good fortune to come in contact with her. She was regularly visited by raccoons, deer, possums and many stray cats and stray teenagers. She was an incredible cook. One of the things she enjoyed most was having a house full of family and friends. She loved watching the people she cared about have fun and enjoy her hospitality.  Jayne brought joy, laughter and love to everyone she met. We were lucky to have her in our lives and the world will be a sadder place without her.   She was preceded in death by her father Samuel (Hubert) Martin, her mother and stepfather, Betty and Dale Brunk, and her beloved son, Kenneth White.   She is survived by her husband Rob Wilson, a daughter and her husband Katie and Josh Engleman of Wilmington, a sister Sherry Martin of Palm Bay, Florida, a sister and her husband Jenny and Al Wilson of Holly Springs, a brother and his wife Tracy and Christina Brunk of Raleigh, as well as several lifelong friends, and family members too numerous to mention.   Visitation will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, NC on Friday, September 18th from 6-8:00 pm.   The funeral will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, NC on Saturday, September 19th at 3:00 pm.   In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Heartland Hospice, 4505 Falls of Neuse Rd #650, Raleigh, NC 27609.
