GARNER - Clara Jean Beasley Jones, 76, passed away Sunday after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. Born in Benson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Erastus Beasley and Lessie Ann Barefoot Beasley. She was also the wife of the late David Seymore Jones. Most of her life, Jean was a homemaker who loved nothing more than being with her family. She was involved in several organizations such as Amalgamated Transit Union, The Shrine Club, Eastern Star and The Red Hat Society.It is said with Alzheimers disease that the mind forgets but the heart remembers. Although Alzheimers did rob Jean of her memory, her family and friends will always remember her determination and unwavering spirit. Jean was a devoted wife to David and a loving mother to her girls. She was a gentle grandmother to four grandchildren. She was a beautiful person in every way. Jeans suffering is over in this life, she will once again be made whole in Heaven. May she have peace in her mind.The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Banners Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Benson.Jean is survived by her two girls, Sherry Greene and husband, Kenny of Salisbury and Lisa Wheeler and husband, David of Garner; grandchildren, Amanda Woodward and husband, Chris, Jason Wheeler, Matthew Hobbs and Sarah Hobbs. She is also survived by a devoted brother, Stacy Beasley and wife, Doris of Mississippi.The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service and at other times at the home of David and Lisa Wheeler, 921 Windrow Lane, Raleigh.The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Sunrise of North Hills, the staff at Davie Place in Mocksville, NC, Wake County Hospice and Liberty Hospice, Thomasville for their love and undivided attention during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Alzheimers Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, NC 27605 or to the Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
