Jean Elizabeth Scofield

Cary - Jean E. Scofield passed away on October 13, 2015. Jean was born in Kingston, NY, on May 29, 1926 to Clinton H. Van Nosdall and Eva L. Van Nosdall (Freer), who predeceased her. In February, 1946, Jean married Allyn P. Scofield in Poughkeepsie, NY.  They were married 63 years at the time of his death on July 25, 2009.  Jean is survived by two sons, Jeffrey A. Scofield and his wife Monica of Cary, NC, and Gary C. Scofield and his wife Melinda of Ballston Lake, NY.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two cousins, and several nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held graveside in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery (Poughkeepsie, NY) at the convenience of the family.  The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the compassionate, dedicated staff at the William Dunlap Transitions LifeCare Hospice Home in Raleigh.
