Jean Hathaway Hinton

Jean Hathaway Hinton, 88, of Raleigh, passed away Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. A native of Nash Co., she was the daughter of the late George and Callie Kemp Hathaway. Jean retired from the N.C. Dept. of Motor Vehicles, where she worked as a Title Examiner. Funeral service will be Friday Jan. 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church on Rock Quarry Rd. in Raleigh, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. (please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines). Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Hinton. She is survived by her sons; Steve Hinton and wife Brenda, Rudy Hinton and wife Gayle, Tony Hinton, Jeff Hinton and Allen Hinton and wife Susan; brother, Don Hathaway and wife Lana; ten grandchildren, David Hinton and wife Darlene, Brian Hinton and wife Mary, Erin Beck and husband David, Emily Coe and husband Doug, Chris Hinton, Melissa Hinton, Eric Hinton, Rachel Hinton, Rebecca Hinton and Sydney Helms; eight great- grandchildren and one great-great grandson on the way. Jean will lie in state Thursday Jan.21, from 1-5 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner for those wishing to sign the guestbook and pay their respects. (no family will be present).
