Jean Mabry Smith

December 16, 1942 — February 5, 2022

Angier- Jean Mabry Smith, 79, passed away on Saturday at Windsor Point in Fuquay-Varina. Born in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Julian Wade Mabry, Sr., and Katie Adams Mabry. One of Jeans greatest joys in life besides her family whom she cherished was being a devoted teacher in the Harnett County School System for more than 30 years. She loved to see the students grow and learn something new every day. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9th at 2:00 PM at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina. The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jerry Smith; sons, Roderick Smith and wife, Robbin of Rocky Point, Keith Smith and wife, Joanne of Angier; one grandson, Dylan Smith of Rocky Point; sister, Tona Gaines and husband, Homer of Atlanta, GA; brother, Julian Mabry, Jr. of Angier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Susette Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 238 Chalybeate Rd. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
