Jean Marie Stierman

HOLLY SPRINGS - It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Jean Stierman (Clemens) on December 5, 2024, at the age of 74. Jean was born on October 9, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, where she spent much of her life. She also lived in Solon and Urbandale, Iowa, and spent her final days near her daughters in North Carolina.

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, and a beautiful soul who always found joy in helping others. Her selflessness and empathy were evident not only in her personal life but also in her nursing career, where she cared for countless patients and families. Jean’s dedication shone through her work at Xavier Hospital, the Visiting Nurses Association, and Hospice of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa.

Although she excelled as a nurse, Jean was most proud of being a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished gardening, bird watching, solving puzzles, and watching Iowa basketball, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special talent for finding thoughtful ways to make her loved ones’ lives easier.

Though Jean is no longer with us, her memory and love will remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by husband, Richard Stierman; her children, Jennifer (Jon) Guckenberger, Jeffrey (Kara) Stierman, Laura (Clayton) Curtis, and Lance (Rachel) Stierman; grandchildren, Alex and Olivia Guckenberger, Sam, Nate, and Addie Stierman, Annie and Evelyn Curtis, and Brennan and Karis Stierman.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Evelyn Clemens (Strumberger), brothers Michael, Richard, and Albert (A.J.) Clemens, and a sister Kathleen Clemens.

A Celebration of Life will be held after the holidays in Dubuque, Iowa.
