Jean Shaw Fish

WILLOW SPRING - Jean Shaw Fish, 87, of Willow Spring, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Seth S. Fish, and her sister Janet Shaw Pergerson of Raleigh, NC.  She is survived by her sons Alan Bruce Fish and wife Sherry, Grant Jason Fish and wife Jennifer, and three grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, and Samantha. She was born in Castalia, NC to the late Joseph Henry and Lucy Dickens Shaw.  She attended East Carolina University and graduated from King’s Business College in Raleigh.  She worked for Carolina Power and Light for a number of years before marrying and moving to Willow Spring, NC.  She worked side by side with her husband operating their dairy and beef cattle farm.  She was active in the Cattleman’s Association and was recently inducted into the N.C. State Fair Livestock Hall of Fame to honor her thirty plus years of service at the N.C. Cattleman’s booth during the fair. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, NC.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Visitation with the family will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 – 12:45 PM, prior to the service or at the home of her son, Alan Fish, 5860 Hilltop Road, Fuquay Varina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to Heartland Hospice Care, 4505 Falls of Neuse Road, Suite 650, Raleigh, NC, 27609.
