Jeannette Miller Elkins

Angier – Jeannette Miller Elkins, 77, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at home with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Wake County, NC, on August 21, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Rowlis James Miller and Naomi Belinda Holt Miller.

Jeannette worked for the State of North Carolina for over 30 years and retired in 2016. After retirement, she worked at the Coats, NC library until December 2022. She loved to crochet and decorate. Jeannette also enjoyed organizing and planning things such as parties, family gatherings, and special occasions.

Jeannette is survived by her husband, Michael Elkins of Angier; daughter, Joanna McKinney (Chuck) of Franklinton, NC; twin sons, Jeremy Kornegay (Courtney) and Jason Kornegay all of Franklinton, NC; step-sons, Jonathan Weldon Elkins (Amy) of Clayton, Mark Derek Elkins (Jessica) of Nampa, ID; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; sister, Melanie Crawford of Fuquay-Varina; and sister-in-law, Lea Miller of Apex.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Robert Miller and step-son, Brian Scott Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 7th in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The burial will follow the service at Inwood Cemetery in Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
