Jeffrey Mason Jones

Jeffrey Mason Jones, 42, died Thursday at Wake Med in Raleigh. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1994. Jeff was a chess instructor at Triangle Chess Center and for numerous private students and was a member of the North Carolina Chess Association for which he served in several offices and the US Chess Foundation. Jeff had an expert chess player ranking and loved sharing his skill and joy of chess with hundreds of young students in the Triangle Area. Jeff is survived by his parents Roger and Sharron Jones and brother, Curtis W. Jones all of Garner. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner from 7:00 – 8:30 pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
