Jen-Chung Chang died on July 29, 2012.He was born in Sichuan Province, China.Mr. Chang joined the Republic of China Air Force in 1938 and served for forty years.In 1949, when the Communists took control of China, Mr. Chang and his family moved to Taiwan, leaving their possessions behind. He retired from the Air Force of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in 1978, and after a few years, he immigrated to the United States.Mr. Chang enjoyed a second career in Chinese restaurants in Irmo, South Carolina, and New Jersey.Mr. Chang was proud to be a naturalized United States citizen.He was baptized on September 6, 2011 at Our Savior Lutheran Church.Mr. Chang was predeceased by his wife, Ming Li (nee Yang) and an infant son.He is survived by three daughters, Der Mei Yang and Der Chun Chi (Sheng Chung) of Taiwan, R.O.C., and Yu Shu Yuan (Cheng) of Stevenson Ranch, California, son David Chang (Saundra) of Raleigh, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.A funeral will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1500 Glenwood Avenue, on Saturday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m.Burial will be at a later date in PrincetonCemetery, Princeton, New Jersey.The family wishes to thank the staffs of Spring Arbor of Raleigh and Carolina Point in Durham for their compassionate care of Mr. Chang.Arrangements by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh.
