Jennings Blake Johnson

Jennings Blake Johnson (J.B.), 87, died December 25,2015. J.B. was a loving and loyal husband, a supportive and adoring father, and an amazingly dedicated grandfather. He was always good for a laugh and a smile and knew when he was needed the most. He had an incredible heart and would move mountains to protect and support his family. He was the son of Moses Monroe Johnson and Della Messer Johnson. He was the retired owner and operator of Johnsons Groceries on Martin Street in Raleigh. He is survived by his wife, and love of his life, Martha B. Johnson; his daughters, Marsha J. Patterson (Ron), Sue B. Blow (Steve); granddaughters: Sandy J. Olson, Michelle B. Edwards, Brandi Blake Seagroves; grandson: Louis Alexander III; and a multiple great and great- great grandchildren. He was proceded in death by his son, William Edward Blinson (Bill); siblings: Evaleen, Pauline, Roy, Moe, and Charles. He was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Raleigh Elks lodge, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road. The family will receive friends one prior to the service. Burial will be in Raleigh Memorial Park.
