Jerry And Thomas Poe

April 15, 1951 — October 26, 2024

Jerry Lee Poe, 73, of Cary, North Carolina, left this world on October 26, 2024, after a brief illness, surrounded by love.

Born on April 15, 1951, in Arlington, Virginia, Jerry was a beacon of joy and resilience. He embraced life with a lively spirit that inspired everyone around him. For 73 wonderful years, he shared a close bond with his loving mother, Annie, who provided him with unwavering support and companionship.

Jerry's positive outlook on life never wavered. He was known for his good nature and infectious smile. Jerry brought joy to those around him, whether he was playing with his beloved dogs, Pug and Pepi, or surrounding himself with the sounds of his favorite country music.

He had a particular fondness for his mother's delicious Southern cooking, especially her pecan pie. However, if you asked him about his ultimate favorite treat, he would always light up and say, “cookies!”

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his brother Steven Leon Poe (Antionette Poe) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and his cherished niece, Amy Elizabeth Poe (Dan Voehse) of Dallas, Texas. He was predeceased by his father Ollie Clarence Poe and his mother Annie Wayland Poe. His brother, Thomas Ashby Poe, joined him just days later on October 29, 2024, and together they will be fondly remembered.

A combined memorial service for Jerry and Tom will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Jerry's legacy by donating to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
