Jerry Morton Smith

Angier- Jerry Morton Smith, 85, of Angier, NC passed away Saturday morning surrounded by his loving family and was reunited with his loving wife, Jean Mabry Smith who preceded him in death. Jerry was the son of the late Milton R. Smith and the late Lottie M. Smith.

Jerry was a graduate of Campbell University of Buies Creek. He was a successful business owner of Mobile Land Supply Company in Spring Lake, NC for over 30 years. He continued his "ever present" work ethic into his retirement. Jerry was a lifelong member of Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church where he has served over the years as Chairperson of the Deacons, Sunday School Director, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him.

Jerry is survived by his two children, Roderick Smith (Robbin) of Rocky Point, NC, Keith Smith (JoAnne) from Angier, NC; grandson, Dylan Smith of Rocky Point; brother, Milton Smith of Angier; and his loving dog, Angel.

Jerry is preceded in death by his siblings, Elma Smith, Foy Weathers, Edsel Smith, Odell Smith, Cecil Smith, Patricia Ator, and Peggy Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29th at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church, 238 Chalybeate Rd. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
