Jerry Ray Winders

Jerry Ray Winders, 61, of Coats, NC died on Sunday May 26, 2024 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 28, 1963 in Panama to the late Harry and Frances Winders.

Jerry is survived by his son, Josh Winders and wife, Kasey; daughter, Katie Winders; his grandchildren, whom he cherished, Carson, Leo and Landon Winders; his brothers, Jimmy Winders and wife, Martha, Ricky Winders and wife, Deidra. He had three nephews, Michael Winders, Joel Winders and Rob winders; as well as their spouses Marion, Meredith, and Crystal Winders and niece Crystal Strickland.

Jerry loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also loved being a part of his church at Angier Fellowship Church where he thought of everyone there as family. You could often find Jerry greeting everyone there with a smile and a bulletin. Those relationships with his family and church family weren’t the only things that Jerry cherished. He loved watching football and was a diehard fan of the Carolina Panthers and the UNC Tarheels. No matter if Jerry was spending time with those that he loved or watching some football, some days just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Bojangles.

A visitation will be held on Saturday June 1st from 1:00-1:45 pm at Angier Fellowship Church, 100 Tippet Rd Angier, NC 27501.

His funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church. The burial will follow the service at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington, NC.
