Jerry Thomas Bagwell

Jerry Thomas Bagwell, age 66 of Newport, NC died Friday, April 5, 2024 in his home. He was born April 23, 1957 in Wake County to the late Alton Thomas Bagwell and Mary Lou Flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Powell Bagwell of the home; his sons, Jonathan Thomas Bagwell of Newport, NC and Daniel Lee Bagwell (Tony Patton) of Stacy, NC; and his brother, Tony Bagwell (Patricia) of McGee’s Crossroad, NC.

Jerry worked and retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation after many years. Following his retirement from public work, Jerry decided it was time for him to farm and he farmed until he and Teresa moved to the coast.

His graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.
