Jerry Wayne Hargis

October 31, 1945 — January 18, 2017

Angier – Jerry Wayne Hargis, 71, passed away Wednesday. He was born in Lynchburg, Va., the son of the late Denton Wade and Edna Byrd Hargis. Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Brenda Jarman Hargis; daughter, Tammy Hargis-Thomas (Johnny) of Sanford; sisters, Shelia Roberts (Dwight), Denise Wooten (David) both of Angier; brothers, Glenn Hargis and Ronnie Hargis, both of Angier; grandchildren, Brooke Carlie Thomas and John Brody Thomas; brother –in-law, Daryle Jarman (Cindy) mother-in-law, Lou Jarman; niece, Leslie Lambert (Steven); great nieces and nephews, Makayla, Sierra, Wyatt, Brantley; and many other special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and all other times at the residence. Special contributions may be made to Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program, Carolinas Rehabilitation, ASAP Water Ski Team, 1100 Blythe Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203 or online at www.givecarolinas.org/asap or memorial contributions to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 851 Oak Grove Church Road, Angier, NC 27501.
