Raleigh - Jesse Lee Scarboro, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, at his home. He was born and raised in Rolesville, the son of the late Herbert and Julia Scarboro. After serving in the United States Navy in World War II, he lived in Raleigh most of his adult life. Surviving: daughter, Lynda Kay Hendricks of Edenton; grandchildren, Ronald P. Hendricks, Jr. and his wife Becky and John Bradford Hendricks and his wife Lynn; great-grandchildren, Evan Hendricks, Dylan Hendricks, Jeremy Hendricks, Alex Edwards, and Katie Hendricks; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kaye Scarboro and three brothers, Morris, Marvin, and Walter Scarboro. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
