Jessica Laurel Davis

Jessica Laurel Davis of Raleigh NC passed away August 6, 2021 from injuries sustained from the results of a car accident. She was born on May 6, 1983 in Raleigh at Rex Hospital to Ronnie and Diana Davis of Garner NC. Even though born a preemie, four months early, weighing only l lb 6 oz, she had a normal childhood, attended Garner Senior High School, and graduated from Meredith College in 2005 with a major in math and a minor in computer science. She attended and was dedicated at Highland Baptist Church by Rev Carlton McDaniel and then attended Aversboro Road Baptist Church where she was baptized by Dr. Harvey Whaley. After graduating from Meredith College, she began working at Raleigh Ear, Nose and Throat which became her lifelong career. She loved her job and all the people she met there. She loved “all creatures great and small”, especially her dog, Scooter, and her cats, Stitch and Sugar. She loved gymnastics, music videos, Broadway musicals (Hello Dolly in particular), and collectible items. She also enjoyed reading, acting, drawing, cross-stitching, binge-watching TV series, cooking, tracing family history, and spending a lot of her time with her parents at the beach. She was and always will be her daddy’s “sweet baby” and her momma’s “bright eyes”. Jessica was predeceased by her grandparents, G.C. and Marie Davis and Lee and Helen Hudgins. She is survived by her parents, her uncles and aunts, George and Joanne Davis, David and Susan McKenzie, Lynn and Beverly Davis, and cousins Kevin Davis, Brian McKenzie and Christopher Davis, and her very special friend, Richard Miller. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Aversboro Road Baptist Church, Garner. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Masks are not required, however the family requests they be worn for all events. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA Wake County, Curtis Dail Pet Adoption Center, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh NC, 27603-6075, or to the charity of your choice.
