Raleigh – Jimmy Cornelius Bishop, 83, passed away Friday. Born in Cramerton, NC, he was son to the late Troy and Idell Bishop. Jimmy served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later graduated from ECU in 1959. Jimmy worked for the North Carolina Department of Revenue for 36 years. Jimmy’s passions in life were golf, fishing and church activities, but above all, spending time with his family and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; daughter, Vicky Jackson and husband, Eric; son, Jeff Bishop and wife, Wendy; Grandchildren, Mitchell, Lindsey, Kasey and Annah and a sister and her family Carolyn Sanders and husband, Tommy; son Todd Sanders and wife, Kristi and grandchildren, Christopher, Grant and Andrew.
