Jimmy Daniel Wilkins

Jimmy Daniel Wilkins, 80, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was a native of Johnston Co, son of the late James Franklin and Jennie Benson Wilkins. Jimmy retired from the N.C. Dept. of Motor Vehicles where he worked as a license examiner. He proudly served his country in the U. S  Army. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday Feb. 23, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Dr. James Kevin Wilkins PhD; and sister, Clara Mae Aycock. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sheila Hockaday Wilkins;  daughter, Kimberly Stewart and husband Mark; brother, Billy Wilkins and wife Edna; grandchildren, Joseph Stewart and David Stewart and daughter-in-law, Renee Howard. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church 3000 E. Garner Rd.
