Jimmy Lloyd Earp passed away Thursday evening at Wake Medical Hospital with his family surrounding him with love. Jim was a proud veteran that included service in both the US Navy and the US Air Force, which included serving in Vietnam. Jim was a medic and was stationed at Mynot Base in North Dakota, from that time of service the guys formed a strong friendship which lead to yearly reunions all over the United States. After his military service he returned to school and earned the title of Registered Nurse. Jim took that training to Central Prison Hospital where he retired after 30 years of service. Jim is survived by Patricia Dickens Earp, his loving wife and strongest supporter; daughter Shannon Green (Ted) and his special Granddaughters: Cheyenne and Savannah Green who were his brightest sunshine on many days; also grandchildren Brittany and Andrew Green; great grandchildren, Bryan and Alexa Green; brother, Jack Earp and sister, Sue. He was pre-deceased by his parents, and Brother Fred Earp. Jim is known as “The Miracle Man” for having lived with Multiple Myeloma for 18 years and being the longest living stem cell transplant recipient. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Dr. Mark Yoffe for 18 years of dedication to Jim’s care. A visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 5, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee with burial to following at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Youngsville, NC with Military Honors.
