Jimmy Ray Dupree

December 18, 1946 — May 13, 2024

WIILOW SPRING – Jimmy Ray Dupree, 77, passed away on Monday at his home. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Clyde Young Dupree and Christine Young Dupree.


Jimmy was a man of integrity, who worked hard and lived life to the fullest no matter what he decided to do. In is working life, he was an electrician with Youngs Electric in Angier his whole career which spanned more than 40 years. He was a man who didn’t slow down, when he wasn’t working you could find him riding motorcycles, enjoying weightlifting, and eating out at one of his favorite restaurants. Jimmy had a love for classic cars, you could often find him at a local car show. He had a knack for being able to tell you the year, make and model of a car just by seeing it. He loved his family more than anything and they will cherish the memories of Jimmy forever.


A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow the service at Sandy Grove Cemetery, Angier. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The family will also receive friends at other times at Jimmy's house.


Jimmy is survived by his sons, Ryan Dupree (Candy) of Lillington, and Chris Dupree (Jeannie) of Willow Spring; sisters, Cathy Snipes (Larry) of Dunn, Teresa Stauffer (Ross) of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Christopher Dupree of Willow Spring, Treyvor Dupree of Clayton, Hunter Dupree of Lillington, Jacky Williams of Garner, John Williams (Cheyenne) of Wendell, and Jacob Williams of Willow Spring; great-grandchildren, Allison Dupree of Willow Spring, Violet Dupree of Willow Spring, Axel Reaves of Garner, and Raelynn Reaves of Garner, Zoe Williams of Willow Spring, and Skyler Williams of Wendell; companion, Barbara Finch of Louisburg; the mother of his children, Barbara Ann Dupree; and numerous nieces and nephews.
