Jimmy Ray Stanley

Jimmy Ray Stanley, age 85 of Garner, NC died Friday, August 11, 2023 in UNC Rex Hospital. He was born January 29, 1938 to the late Rother Rotherall and Bessie Irene Johnson Stanley and he was the widower of Frances Stanley. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Stanley and his wife, Eula-May, Wade Stanley and his wife, Faye, Sherwood Stanley and his wife, Dorothy, Marvin Stanley and his wife, Mattie; his sisters, Doris Jones, Margaret Lee and her husband, Willie, Maxine O’Connoll and her husband, John.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy “Jimbo” Stanley, Jr.; his grandchildren, Ashley Brown and her husband, Hunter and Jonathan Stanley and his wife, Savannah; his great-grandchildren, Jonah and Fisher Stanley and Kennedy Brown; his brother, R.F “Pete” Stanley and his wife, Cora; many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.

Jimmy was a family man who loved all of his family especially his son and grandchildren. He loved fishing and going to Paradise Bay. Jimmy retired from United Textiles Distributions with more than 20 years of service.

The family will receive friends at the home of his granddaughter, Ashley, 4708 Holland Church Rd. Raleigh, NC 27603 on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
