RALEIGH -Jimmy T. Piper, 82, was received into the heavenly arms of his Savior, as he peacefully died in his sleep at his home on 1808 Sunset Drive early Monday, March 30th. Beloved by many, Jimmy was an active member and Deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church for over twenty-five years. For many years he was active in caring for the church facilities and he and Justine were also active in visiting with many home bound members of the church. A Service Witnessing to the Resurrection will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church Saturday, April 4th at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 before the service at the church. A Committal service will follow at Montlawn Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Justine Piper; his sister, JoAnn Soileau and her husband, Millard, of Florence, Alabama and their four sons. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Minta Piper of Raleigh and by his brother, Fred Piper, also of Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Whitaker Mill Road, Raleigh, NC, 27608.
