Jo Ann Baker Peoples, 61, born December 20th joined loved ones in heaven on Saturday at UNC Memorial Hospital. She was born in Zebulon to the late Walter Edward “Joe” Baker and Thelma Gay. She married Burt Franklin “Frank” Peoples on August 6, 1983 and he survives. Family and friends will be received at Aversboro Road Baptist Church from 11:45-12:45 prior to the service which will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015. She will be laid to rest in a private service at Montlawn Memorial Park later that day. Also surviving one daughter, Jennifer Peoples Wuester (William) of Fuquay Varina; son Daniel Peoples (Melissa) of Greenville; and one sister Brenda Arnold (Ted) of Louisburg; Three grandchildren, River Peoples, Utah Peoples and Joseph Clemon (JC) Wuester. She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Edward Baker, Jr. Jo Ann was a longtime resident of Garner where she raised her children with her husband. She enjoyed reading, caring for her family and grandchildren, and being an active member of Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Christmas was Jo Ann’s favorite time of year to celebrate the birth of Christ and being surrounded by family and loved ones. Frank would like everyone to know “Jo Ann’s love for her family and people never ceased. Our children and their families were a constant source of pride and love for Jo Ann. Jo Ann was and always will be my pretty lady.” In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aversboro Road Baptist Church, 1600 Aversboro Rd., Garner, NC 25729.
