Joan Anderson

Zebulon - Joan Anderson, 79, passed away on Tuesday. Joan E. Anderson, 79, of Zebulon North Carolina died Tuesday, August 25th 2015. Born April 22nd1936, at her family home on Narragansett Avenue to the late John J. and Mary (Serpa, Matoes) Sheehan. She was the wife of William E. Anderson. She was a member of the Jamestown Drum and Bugle Corp. She served honorably until 1958 in the United States Air Force, stationed in Hawaii where she met and married her husband William.. She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, William E. Anderson and her sister Margaret “Peggy” Sheehan of East Greenwich, two daughters, Brenda Miller (Randy) and Donna “Susie” Lensen both of North Carolina, four grandsons Michael Miller (Mary), Jason Miller (Lisa), Trevor Lensen & Troy Lensen, as well as two great-grandchildren Kelsey and Grayson Miller. She is preceded in death by her brother Frank Matoes, and her sisters Dorothy Nunes, Genevieve Currie, Marjorie Moran, Ellen Wright, Evelyn Wright & Jacqueline Swigert. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were always the light of her life. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh
