Joan Elizabeth Dickenson

GARNER - Joan Elizabeth Dickenson, 89, passed away peacefully on, June 3, 2024. She was born in Memphis Tennessee, on April 9, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Irwin, Jr, and Elizabeth Irwin.

Joan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. On May 17, 1957, she married the love of her life and best friend, Douglas Lee Dickenson, and together they raised four children whom Joan loved very dearly. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends as a woman of great faith, strength, and conviction.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Lee Dickenson; daughters, Susan Bellue, Deborah Dickenson, Donna Hawkins, and Joanie Kilkelly and husband Gary Kilkelly; sister, Bobbie McMillin and husband Buddy McMillin; and nine grandchildren, Damien, Debbie Sue, Sam, Robert, Doug, Beth, Jessica, Chris, and Ryan; eight greatgrandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3414 N. Shiloh Road, Garner, NC.
