Joan L. Samios

CARY- Joan Susan Langevin Samios, 81, died Tuesday at Rex Healthcare. Born in Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Roselind Langevin. Joan worked as a neonatal nurse at New YorkFoundingHospital in Manhattan, NY and also worked with Early Childhood Education in Pittsburgh, PA. Her life was dedicated to raising her family, her devotion to the Catholic Church and her community. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, 11:30 am at St. Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Church, Garner. Burial will follow at HistoricOakwoodCemetery, Raleigh.The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, John Samios; daughters, MaryBeth Ritchie and husband, Jim of Waldolf, MD, Nancy Jeanne Stiles and husband, Mike of Greenville, SC; sons, John E. Samios and wife, Mary of Leesburg, VA, Chris Samios and wife, Michelle of Garner, NC; brothers, Teddy Langevin and wife, Bernice and Tommy Langevin; grandchildren, James and Emily Ritchie, Brian McClean and wife, Nicole, Christopher McClean and wife, Ashley, Elizabeth, Jennifer and John C. Samios, Spencer and Erica Samios; great-grandchild, Isabella Rose McClean.In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Ann Samios.
