Joan Mary (Moore) Goodnough

ANGIER- Joan was born February 13, 1951 in Syracuse, NY to Thomas Joseph and Alice (Pye) Moore. She graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1971. Over the years, Joan worked in secretarial positions in various industries. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Thomas James, Michael Joseph, and Patrick Terrence. She leaves to honor her memory, her best friend and loving husband, Paul Goodnough and son, Glenn Lickvar of Angier, NC. She also leaves her soul mate and sister, Mary Alice Moore of North Syracuse, NY and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Joan loved and appreciated the simple things in life. One of her favorite places to be was sitting on her front porch or back deck enjoying nature’s beauty, especially the flowers, frogs, dragonflies, and hummingbirds. She shared these special places and cherished times with the love of her life, Paul, her neighbors and friends who loved to visit Joan. You were always welcome in her home and her heart. Joan will be remembered for her love and compassion for her family, friends, and neighbors. She was such a source of support and comfort to so many. She used her wisdom and advice to influence and encourage those she loved. Joan was truly a friend that reached for your hand but took your heart. To know her was to love her. She was one of a kind and she knew how to laugh, joke, cry, share and love unconditionally. Joan fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer for years. She kept the faith and now she has received her reward-her heavenly home. She loved angels and now she is our angel. She was dearly loved and will be missed, but never forgotten. When we think of Joan, we will remember her smile and we will smile. Joan has left her footprints on our hearts. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, June 9th at 3:00 pm at her home that she loved at 204 Jan Street, Angier, NC. Her sister, Mary is planning a memorial service at their childhood home at 208 Roxann Avenue, North Syracuse, NY on Sunday, August 12 at 3:00 pm.
