Joann Canell

JoAnn Cruz Canell, 85, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025. JoAnn was the second child of eight, born July 20, 1939 in Fayetteville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Teofilo Delacruz and Hurley Mae Hathcock Delacruz.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Debbie VanStory and Kathy Smith, 3 brothers, Don, Pering and Teofilo Jr. Delacruz and 2 sisters, Emma Mae Cover and Ruby Diane Hedgepeth.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Cook (Stephen), 5 grandchildren, T.J. Vanstory, Amanda VanStory, Brianna Crawford, Kyle Smith and Carley Cook, 2 sisters, Rosine Dexter and Evelyn Faye Lee and 11 great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be planned in the Spring.
