Joann Johnson

Jo Ann Howard Johnson, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022. A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Duke Felton and Mary Hortense Raynor Howard. Jo Ann loved Lake Life, spending as much time as she could at Lake Gaston. She would driver her golf cart around and visit her friends in the neighborhood, dropping by things for them or just checking in. She loved taking care of people. More than anything, she loved her family. Memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 5PM, at West Clayton Church of God, 143 Short Johnson Road, Clayton, NC 27520. Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Jason Johnson and Gary Johnson and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Tyler, Josh, Aisha, and Easton “Boogie”; great grandchildren, Joseph, Noah, Skylar, Emberly, and Mason; sister, Betty Arnold; brothers, Johnny, Darrell, and Paul Howard; sister, Carolyn; her fur baby, Chester; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Rex Johnson, and sisters, Shirley Leisure and Jack.
