Joann Lepley

WAKE FOREST – Betty “Joann” Mills Lepley, age 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Capital Nursing and Rehabilitation in Raleigh. She was formerly of Angier, born to the late Harvey and Naomi Turlington Mills. She was a devoted wife of 54 years and the loving mother of 6 children. Joann was a registered CNA and dedicated employee of Square D Company for many years. In addition to her parents Joann was preceded in death by her husband William Frederick Lepley, Sr “Bill”, son William F. Lepley, Jr. “Billy”, siblings, Jim Mills, Larry Mills, Ruth Mills Wimberly, Doris Mills Smith, and Charles Mills. Joann is survived by her son Chester D. Lepley, spouse Sandra; Daughters Melody Lepley Hampton, Lorie Lepley McGee, spouse Billy, Gwendolyn Lepley McLamb, Kara Marie McLamb; and sister Patricia Cook. She was the much loved “Mema” of 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; all of whom she loved deeply. The family invites you to join them for a graveside service that honors Joann’s life and fun loving spirit; Saturday, April 2nd at 12:00pm at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Joann’s memory to Eastern NC Alzheimer’s Association; Eastern North Carolina Chapter (alz.org)
