Raleigh, NC - Joanne Boggs Campbell, wife of the late Charles Everett Campbell, died October 30, 2012. A celebration honoring her life will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Lake Wheeler Park. Born November 30, 1927 in Lowville, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Edgar Otis Boggs and Mildred Genevieve Stanley. She attended Syracuse University and Potsdam-State University of New York. Joanne was a true friend. She came to your aid at the drop of a hat and laughed at all your jokes and stories. Competitive - but very fair - she was a good sport whether she won or lost in tennis, golf, bowling or bridge. She was at her most comfortable surrounded by the laughter of friends, and good food and drink. Though not as adventurous as some, she gladly lived vicariously through her kids and grandkids, relaying their stories proudly to others. Her kindness, fairness and good humor lives on through us all. Surviving are her children, Charles Frederick Campbell, Sue Ellen Moriarty, Nancy Jo Campbell, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
