ANGIER - Joe Ed Pleasant, 79, of 566 N. Dunn St. passed away Monday. A native of Harnett County, he is the son of the late Percy and Eunice Pollard Pleasant. Mr. Pleasant was active in the affairs of Angier serving as a town commissioner for several years. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 at Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Surviving are his daughter, Gina P. Sasser and husband, Wayne of Benson, son, Keith Pleasant and wife, Renee of Angier; grandchildren, Corey Sasser and Haley Sasser, both of Benson; Kyle Pleasant and wife, Lucy and Rebecca Pleasant, all of Angier; sister Blanche Mitchell of Raleigh, sisters-in-law Kim Coats Haddock and husband, Eddie of Princeton, Melba Pleasant of Charlotte, Lillian Pleasant of Milton, FL. brothers-in-law Levin Beasley of Cary, Rev. Bob Coats and wife, Joyce of Fuquay-Varina, Ron Coats and wife, Joyce of Cary. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Coats Pleasant; sisters, Betty Rose Beasley and Janet Gainey; brothers, Jim Pleasant and Dan Pleasant. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home of Keith and Renee Pleasant, 566 N. Dunn St., Angier. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.
