Joe Winfield Dreisbach, Jr.

Raleigh - Joe Winfield Dreisbach, Jr., 72, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014. Born December 13, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of Joe Winfield Dreisbach, Sr. and Mary Katherine Dreisbach.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Laura Kay Taylor.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carlyn Dreisbach, his daughter, Amanda Rumsey and her husband, Peter; his son, Paul Dreisbach and his wife, Molly; his daughter, Traci Spencer and her husband, Tommy; his sister, Mary Kay Eastep; his son-in-law, Guy Taylor; and eight grandchildren: Jack, Ella, Samuel, Kay, Madelynn, Anthony, Harlan, and Mae.Joe retired after 36 years with IBM, a career which included work on the Saturn and Apollo moon missions. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, who was always kind- hearted and there for others. Joe loved to play golf and to travel. He and Lynn travelled frequently to see their children on the West Coast and travelled widely in Europe after living in France for two years.He touched many lives and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 16 at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 at Plymouth Church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Plymouth Church 6104 Rock Service Station Rd.
