Joel Reames, Iii

Lake Gaston/Raleigh Joel, the son of the late Joel G. Reames, Jr. and the late Kathleen Rowland, attended NSCU and retired from Wachovia Bank. He was a loving husband and father. He made a lasting mark on hundreds of boy scouts as Scout Master with troop 357 for over 20 years. He served in the Civil Air Patrol and loved flying. Joel was forever changed in 1980, when he began a personal relationship with Jesus. A former member of Providence Baptist, he was an active member and choir member at Lake Gaston Baptist and a Gideon. Survived by: Wife: Marilyn, Children: Samuel Reames, Vivian Edwards (Allan), Joel Anne Connors, Joel G Reames, IV (Deborah), Brother: Carter Reames (Beth). Grand children: Jennifer Coby (Jacob), Michelle Bales (Thomas), Andrew Edwards, David Edwards (Abigail), Christopher Edwards, Joel Robert Reames, William Reames. Great grandchild: Lucas Coby. He was preceded in death by Mildred Wyatt Reames, his wife of 32 years. Visitation will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh beginning at 1:00PM on Thursday. The funeral service will at 2:00PM in the chapel and burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held also on Friday at Lake Gaston Baptist Church at 1:00PM with reception following the service. Memorial contributions to The Gideons (Gideons.Org)
