John David Dill, Sr.

John David Dill, Sr. of Raleigh died January 14, 2013 at Western Wake Hospital following a brief illness. He was 59.Mr. Dill was born April 12, 1953, the son of Lonnie Davis Dill, Sr., deceased, and Sadie Moore Dill of New Bern.Mr. Dill is survived by brothers, Lonnie Dill and wife Kathi of Washington, DC, Sam Dill and wife Marilyn of Apex; sisters, Polly Dill Byrd and husband Ed of Hickory, Keasa Dill Ouzts and husband BB of New Bern; son John Dill and wife Jeseca and granddaughter Madelyn of Raleigh, and daughter Beth Dill and grandson Skye of Greenfield, MA. Mr. Dill is also survived by an aunt, Nita Jarman of Beaufort and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.Mr. Dill grew up in Garner, NC where he was active in the Garner United Methodist Church. He attended Garner High School and Western Carolina University. After college he returned to Garner where he and his family were active members of St. Andrews United Methodist Church; he served there as a Stephen Minister.For many years he worked in the building supply industry in the Raleigh area and most recently was employed by Walmart.Memorial services will be conducted at Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Garner Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 am.The family requests any memorial gifts be directed to the charity of the donors choice or: The Healing Place, 1251 Goode Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
