CLAYTON - John Douglas Walker, 60, died May 6, 2016 after a courageous battle with heart disease and a recent diagnosis of liver cancer. John was born May 31, 1955 in Wellington, Kansas. He attended school in Wellington and later attended Kansas State before joining and serving in US Army. He spent most of his career in digital electronics and later as an electrician and maintenance of electronics. Survivors include his wife and best friend of almost 31 years, Cheryl ; son, John “Ryan” and daughter, Kelli (Brian); two beautiful grandchildren, Cara and J. C.; brother-in-law, Ronnie Whitt and his constant companion, Dixie. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Barbara Walker, brothers, Michael Walker and Rich Walker. Memorial service officiated by Pastors Will Roland and Charles Pittman, will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at the home, where he would want it- 2003 McGirt Court, Clayton, NC. Casual/ Respectful attire is requested as this is what John would want. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses that cared for him over the years and most recently Hospice 3-HC. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but to all them also that love his appearing.
