John Edward Bryant, 61, of Raleigh, NC., passed away on September 13, 2017. John was born on an Army base in Germany. He was a 1974 graduate of Oneonta High School and a 1980 graduate of Auburn University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. After college he went to work as a Systems Analyst for PPG in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Later he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to work for EDS, also as a Systems Analyst. When the opportunity came, he took a position as a Senior Systems Analyst with Glaxo, Smith and Kline which later became Glaxo Welcome. After John retired from Glaxco Welcome he did consulting for the federal government where he worked until his sudden passing. John was an avid reader and a person of varied interests. He loved to travel, both in the United States and internationally. He enjoyed photography and took many beautiful pictures of his travels. He was a member of several caring organizations. He was kind and he loved people. He was a wonderful son, brother and a loyal and loving friend. John had a brilliant mind and a loving and humble spirit. He will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Raleigh at 1 PM with a memorial service to follow at 2 PM with Minister Ric Taylor officiating in Raleigh, North Carolina.
