John L. Samios

Cary - John Loring Samios age 84 of Cary, NC passed away on Saturday evening March 29, 2014 in Raleigh, NC. John was the son of the late John P. Samios and Ruth McGuire. John had a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from what is now called the New Jersey Institute of Technology. His professional experiences included working at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, NJ, Westinghouse Electric in Pittsburgh, PA and running his small business Pine Valley Auto in Plum Borough, PA. John retired to Angier, NC in 1995 with his wife Joan S Samios. His greatest accomplishment, however, is his family. John is survived by four children: MaryBeth Ritchie, Nancy J. Stiles, John E. Samios, and Christopher T. Samios. John had nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. John is also survived by three sisters: Corinne Samios McCrosky, Karen Lockwood, and Christina Noelle McClellan. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan S. Samios and daughter Susan A. Samios. Visitation for Mr. Samios will begin promptly at 2:00PM Saturday May 17, 2014 at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner, NC. There will be an informal service at Bryan-Lee in Garner following at 3:00PM. John will have a full military burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC around 4:30-5:00PM. John will be laid to rest with his bride of 58 years Joan.
