John Leo Austin

November 15, 1949 — July 12, 2016

COATS – John Leo Austin, 66, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his home on Tuesday July 12, 2016. A native of Arden, Delaware, he has made his home in Harnett County North Carolina since May of 1998. He was currently employed as a maintenance technician with Bahnson INC. at BIOGEN in RTP.  He was the son of the late John Herbert and Mary Speck Austin. He served proudly in the United States Navy as a submariner during the Vietnam War. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday July 16th at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:30 pm prior to the service on Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rowena Austin; daughters, Paloma Berry and husband, Trip of Hudson, FL, Rachel Ennis and husband, Brian of Angier; sons, James Patrick and Christine Murray of Coats, Aaron Austin and wife, Katherine of Las Vegas, NV, Jason Patrick and wife, Jamie of Louisburg; sisters, Joan Cheesbrough of Danielsville, PA, Sandra Carroll of Conway, SC, and  foster sister Julie Furman of Mt. Ranier, MD; grandchildren, Dylan Shaffer, Kristen Austin, Tommy Berry, Amber Austin, T.J. Berry, Rebekah Ennis, River Ennis, Noah Patrick , and Reed Ennis; as well as many nieces and nephews.
