John M. Gardner, Sr.

John Moses Gardner, Sr. 89, died Thursday. A native of Harnett County he was the son of the late Rufus and Meady Dudley Gardner. Mr. Gardner was a veteran of the US Navy and a retired carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Sloan and brothers; Rueben, Clarence, Coy, Haywood and Weldon Gardner.Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lee Gardner, sons, John Johnny Gardner, Jr. (Sara) of Florala, Ala. Robert Gardner (Cathy) of Lillington, Quent Gardner (Michelle) of Raleigh, David and Danny Gardner of Angier; Sister, Hazel Rose of Warrenton; fourteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Angier on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 2:oo pm with Pastor Grover Blackburn officiating. The family will receive friends immediately afterwards.
