John Manuel Garcia, 81, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on February 16, 2022, following a long battle with cancer. John emigrated from Havana, Cuba to the United States in 1961, residing initially in Tampa, Florida. Loving husband to his wife of 44 years, Mary (nee Sullivan); devoted father to Arthur (Lisa) of Clearwater, FL, John (Beverly) of Hillsborough, NC, and Michael (Jamie) of Raleigh, NC; adored grandfather to his 6 grandchildren, David, Sarah, Brandon, Laura, Aiden, and Piper; supportive brother to sister, Barbara Garcia, of Brandon, FL. John was a pioneer in the medical X-ray field for nearly 60 years, receiving many awards for his contributions to the X-ray industry worldwide. He traveled the world many times over but called New Jersey home before retiring to North Carolina in 2020. Gone from spirit but never from our hearts, we will forever miss his sense of humor and his willingness to give time, conversation, and love to all. Viva Cuba!
