John O. Davis

Cheraw, SC – John O. Davis, 86, passed away on Wednesday surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wake County, NC, he was the son of the late John Milton Davis and Martha Woppler Davis. A private family graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, NC. Survivors include sons, John Davis and wife, Deborah of Garner, Tim Davis and wife, Paula of Salisbury, MD; his beloved cat, Nugget; sister, Kathleen Kirkland of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Nathaniel Davis and wife, LaKeshia of Randallstown, MD, Lauren Rice, DVM and husband, Brandon Rice, DVM of New Paris, OH, Heather Cones and husband, Jaron of Raleigh, Hillary Davis of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Nechamah Davis, Efrayim Davis, Batya Davis and Neschaya Davis, all of Randallstown, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Johnson Davis and sister, Jeanette Irwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NC Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Fund, NC Wildlife Resources Commission, 1702 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699 in John’s memory.
