John Silvia

Garner- John Silvia, 96, died July 12, 2014. He grew up in Jersey City, NJ and he served in the US Army in WWII. Prior to retirement, he had his own business as a door to door milkman in Jersey City. In 1998, he moved to North Carolina to be near his youngest daughter, Laura and her family. He was an avid bowler and a big Mets fan. He was a wonderful husband and father. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include his wife, Diana Silvia; daughters, Mary Petersen, Karen Morrison, Ella McLaughlin and Laura Mascia and her husband, Paul; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by parents, Anthony and Mary Silvia; daughter, Willa Pasquali and 9 brothers and sisters.The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Laurels of Forest Glenn for their care.
