John Wesley Wilson, Sr.

ANGIER – John “J.W.” Wesley Wilson, Sr., 78, passed away on Saturday at his home. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Althea Wright. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 26th from 12:00-1:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26th at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. J.W. is survived by his children, Alice Mae Minter of Columbia, SC, Carolyn Jean Wilson of Raleigh, NC, John Wesley Wilson, Jr. and wife, Shironica of Sumter, SC, Bessie Althea Wilson of Raleigh, NC, Darryl Sean Wilson and wife, Amanda of Orangeburg, SC, Shyrl Denise Wilson of St. Matthews, SC; sisters, Brenda Sue Wilson of Raleigh, NC, Celia Wilson of St. Matthews, SC, Shelley Greene of New York City, Darlene Wilson of St. Matthews, SC, Rayetta Davis and husband, Melvin of Apex, NC; brother, Jackie Hooker and wife, Lisa of Raleigh, NC; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special tribute and recognition to his sister, Brenda Sue Wilson, for the many years of devoted care and attention that she provided to J.W.
