Johnnie Redik Brooks, Sr.

Clayton – Johnnie Redik Brooks, Sr., 74, passed away February 14, 2023. A native of Wake County, Johnnie was born July 20, 1948, to the late Charles Spurgeon and Betty Prince Brooks.

Johnnie was married to the love of his life, Denise, for 34 years. He was considered by many to be a master plumber and he enjoyed his life long career as such. He was well known and loved by everyone in his community, including his many friends and family members. Johnnie loved to spend his time restoring classic cars, and being with his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, in Garner, NC.

Johnnie is survived by his wife Denise Brooks; sons, Johnnie Redik Brooks, Jr., and Steven Glen Brooks; daughter, Amanda Brooks Capehart (Garret Capehart); grandchildren, Kristin Rodriguez (Alex Rodriguez), Devin Brooks, Alaina Capehart, and Kennedy Capehart; great grandchildren, Easton Brooks, and Margaux Rodriguez; brothers and sisters, Lonnie Brooks, Cheryl Adams, Carolyn Medlin, Ray Brooks, and Danny Brooks.

In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Lynn Dement; and brother, Billy Brooks.
